We are pleased to announce an exciting sporting development at Dover Christ Church Academy. A new 3G sports pitch is proposed to be built in the grounds of Dover Christ Church Academy.
The sports pitch will be integrated in DCCA lessons allowing pupils to play sports all year round. The new 3G sports pitch – a third generation all-weather synthetic surface will use LED lighting to enable the facility to be played in the evenings and the winter months.
Alongside the brand new 3G sports pitch, funding is also being secured to refurbish the school’s two netball pitches.
Both facilities will be funded by the Football Foundation, Dover District Council and Turner Schools, and will be available for local community teams during evenings and weekends with priority given to our partner clubs in the project. There will be a particular focus on boys and girls football.
In keeping with Turner Schools policy of lowering its carbon footprint, the area surrounding the 3G pitch will be planted with wildflowers to encourage a brand new eco-system.
